Hagop Deradurian

Hagop Deradurian was born in Khoshmat. After completing his elementary education, he came to America and settled in Providence. During the First World War, he served on the Caucasian front, taking part in the fights at Van under supervision of Capt. Jim Chakalian. Later he took part in the Cilician Volunteer Movement, fighting in the Battle of Arara. As a soldier of the American armed forces, he was sent to the European front during the Second World War. Back in the USA, he served in the armed forces as a squad leader. Jacob’s life was turbulent and adventurous, but at present he lives in Providence with his family.

Bedros Khojoian

In 1912 Bedros Khojoian was drafted into the Turkish armed forces. In the midst of the war he was sent to the Caucasian front. Deserting the Turkish army, Bedros joined Russians and started fighting against the Turks. After the war he got married in the Caucasus and had four children who live in Armenia, where Bedros recently died.

Apraham Deradurian

Apraham Deradurian served in the Turkish army in his youth. During the deportation of 1915, the Turks killed him somewhere near Khoshmat.

Hovhannes Simonian

Hovhannes Simonian was born in Khoshmat. In 1915, during the days of the massacres, he settled in the Kurdish-inhabited village of Maman. Experiencing a lot of suffering on his way, he managed to escape from the claws of death and left for Marseille after the war. The son of Hampartsum Simonian, Hovhannes served in the armed forced of France, fighting on various fronts in France, Algeria and Africa during the Second World War. He was successful everywhere. At present he lives in Marseille with his son, Hampartsum.

Hampartsum Simonian

Hampartsum Simonian served as a soldier in Tunisia and Algeria in 1947 under the French flag. Hampartsum is the son of a soldier, Hovhannes Simonian, who served in Tunisia as well. He is also the grandson of another honorable man, Hampartsum Simonian, who apart from being a well-known person in Khoshmat was also a teacher and the leader of the long-lived Simonian dynasty.
